Huhne the home-wrecker

New Prologue (July 2015)

THIS BLOG WAS FIRST PUBLISHED ON 14th NOVEMBER 2007.  IT WAS DESIGNED TO OPEN THE EYES OF FELLOW LIBERAL-DEMOCRATS SO THAT THEY COULD SEE THAT CHRIS HUHNE WAS A DISGUSTING PIECE OF EXCREMENT.

AND THAT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD WE PERMIT HIM TO BECOME LEADER OF OUR PARTY.  (THIS WAS WHEN HUHNE WAS RUNNING FOR LEADER AGAINST NICK CLEGG.)

THIS BLOG WAS ATTACKED BY HUHNE'S CRONIES, BY MISGUIDED LIB-DEM MEMBERS - BY HUHNE'S CAMPAIGN MANAGER - AND FINALLY BY THE SCUM-REPTILE HIMSELF - CHRIS HUHNE.

FORTUNATELY SUFFICIENT LIB-DEM MEMBERS WHO VOTED IN THE ELECTION SAW THIS BLOG AND UNDERSTOOD WHAT A CALAMITY IT WOULD BE TO ELECT THIS LOW-LIFE FUCK.

WE ARE PROUD THAT THIS BLOG PLAYED ITS PART IN EXPOSING THE REAL CHRIS HUHNE AND PREVENTING HIM BECOMING LEADER.

LESS THAN 3 YEARS LATER THE REAL CHRIS HUHNE  WAS EXPOSED TO THE WHOLE WORLD FOR HAVING ABUSED HIS WIFE AND HIS OWN CHILDREN.

AND JUST OVER 2 YEARS LATER HE FINALLY WENT TO PRISON.  SADLY FOR A FAR TOO-BRIEF CUSHY SENTENCE.  BUT HE'S FOREVER BRANDED AS A FELON.

WE ARE PROUD THAT THIS BLOG WAS THE FIRST MAJOR OUTLET TO EXPOSE CHRIS HUHNE FOR THE SLIMY CUNT HE WAS - HAS ALWAYS BEEN - AND WILL ALWAYS BE.

ROT IN HELL HUHNE!  AND NEVER FORGET HOW MUCH YOUR CHILDREN WHO YOU ABUSED - UTTERLY AND ETERNALLY HATE YOU...

(Many of the links in this blog are still active.  But inevitably some of the links have expired.  As predicted in the penultimate paragraph of the blog - some of the links were actually expunged.  Presumably at the request of someone who was embarrassed by what the content revealed about Huhne.  Gee!  Wonder who might have done that?!  In due course, we will do our best to find fresh links to replace those that have expired or been expunged)

NOW BACK TO NOVEMBER 2007

 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Aspirant Liberal Dem leader Chris Huhne is adept at presenting a smooth image of the happy family man. He uses the excuse that his Greek-born wife. Vicky, is a highly-placed civil servant as the reason he refuses to discuss his family life in depth. He told The Observer on 12th February 2006: "I have always kept my family separate from politics. But in any case, Vicky can't be involved in party-political matters. She is a civil servant." However, that is certainly not the only reason Huhne refuses to discuss his personal life.

If you went solely by his official biography you would have no idea about the skeletons in his closet - and that's the way he likes it.

The biography on his official website says simply:

"He is married to Vicky (who is also an economist) and they have five children, three of them now grown up."

His biography on the official Liberal-Democrat website says:

"Chris is married to Vicky Pryce, Chief Economist at the Department of Trade and Industry. They have five children, three now grown up."

Mislead by that intentionally ambiguous wording, mainstream newspapers still routinely describe Huhne as being the father of five children.

For example this from The Daily Telegraph - 18th October 2007
"His wife, Vicky Pryce, with whom he has had five children..."

Of course Huhne has NOT had FIVE children with his wife. Her first two children came from her rarely-referenced FIRST marriage.

Though that fact cannot be found anywhere on Huhne's official literature (he has effectively written her first marriage, her first husband and the father of her first two children out of existence) the information is publicly known and has occasionally been written about by some journalists. Not that it gets them anywhere.

As reported by the Daily Mirror on 24th February 2006 during the 2006 leadership election campaign a journalist incurred his wrath by asking a very sensitive question. Had Huhne played a part in the break-up of his wife’s first marriage? Huhne angrily declined to answer that question. And some feel that he avoided the question for very good reason.

THE BACKGROUND

His wife Vicky had come to London from Greece in the early 1970s to study economics at the London School of Economics. While she was there she fell in love with, and married, an older man, an LSE academic named Pryce. As she worked towards her degrees (a BSc in 1973 and a Masters in 1976) she and her husband started a family. Their daughter Georgia (now a 31-year-old management consultant) was born in 1976 and a second daughter Alexandra (now a 26-year-old publicist) was born in 1981. With the encouragement and support of her husband, Pryce became a highly-paid economist for blue chip companies such as KPMG, Exxon Europe and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

In the late 1970s, Huhne was an up-and-coming journalist in a hurry. Regarded by some of his peers as rather cocky. In 1977 he became (according to a claim in his official biography) Britain’s youngest staff foreign correspondent, when The Economist sent him to Brussels. In 1980 he returned to London to work for the Guardian as an economics correspondent.

Huhne has said in interviews that he met Pryce “on the economics circuit”. But for reasons that can be deduced – he has been very coy about WHEN they first met. That is because she was a married woman with two young children (one of them only recently born) when they first met. And she was already wealthy beyond Huhne's wildest Guardian salary dreams. Huhne saw the opportunity. And his agenda was neither liberal nor democratic. He went to work on Vicky Pryce with all the zeal that he has brought to advancing his careers as a jobbing Fleet Street writer/financial tipster, as a city slicker/speculator and finally as a politician clambering up the greasy pole and slithering over a slew of far more experienced Lib-Dem MPs.

Vicky Pryce was smitten with the charm offensive and decided to jettison the loyal older husband who had nurtured her and supported her advancement, for the rising young journalist and wannabe politician – even though her youngest daughter was barely a year old. She swiftly divorced her LSE husband (though retaining his surname “for professional purposes”) and in 1984, she married Huhne.

Huhne consistently refuses to answer any questions about his wife’s first husband and the break-up of her first marriage. He also concedes that he is not close to his two step-daughters. Hardly surprising given the circumstances in which he entered their lives – and how he rapidly took over from their real father. It is unclear whether he ever legally adopted them. But even though they grew up with him as their domestic father-figure, neither of the girls chose to take his name. Both of them proudly use their real father's name "Pryce" and not Huhne.

Journalists who have tried to track down details of the messy Pryce vs Pryce divorce have run into a solid brick wall because – in a rather unusual fashion - the entire set of the Pryce divorce records have been sealed and are off-limits to the public. You don’t get where Huhne and Pryce have got in life without learning how to work the system. Were strings pulled to achieve the burying of what should be public records? That is for others to determine…

(Who knows – perhaps an intrepid journalist reading this will find a way to exhume what Chris Huhne has gone to great lengths to prevent anyone seeing – the public records of his wife’s divorce. Public records that Chris Huhne hopes no one will ever be able to see. Shouldn't we voters be entitled to know about the behaviour of a man who aspires to be Prime Minister?)

What is clear is that Vicky Pryce’s first husband, who was distraught after the abrupt ending of his marriage, is a virtual recluse and refuses to speak with journalists or any strangers. But what he has said in the past about Huhne the Homewrecker, leads one to believe that he would not be casting a vote for Chris in any election.

His hurt feelings are understandable and are exacerbated daily even 24 years after Huhne muscled in on his wife. The fact that newspapers regularly trot out Huhne's spin that makes Huhne seem to be the father of Pryce's two daughters is deeply painful. Huhne has effectively painted him out of existence.

Hooking up with Pryce was certainly an astute financial move by Huhne. Pryce continued to climb up the corporate ladder and helped finance Huhne's early political ambitions such as his failed candidacy in the 1987 General Election running as the SDP-Liberal Alliance candidate for Oxford West and Abingdon. Her wealth also subsidised Huhne's mid-1990s transition from journalist to city slicker.

In 1994, Huhne parlayed all the contacts and information he had gleaned covering the financial world as a journalist for The Guardian and Independent - and exploited his experiences by starting a financial consultancy. He was a slick operator. He rapidly amassed his own personal fortune by investing in a slew of companies that most Lib-Dem supporters would be horrified by. Especially those on the left-wing who Huhne is now assiduously wooing. Reports in the Daily Telegraph and The Independent in February 2006 identified an investment portfolio that included a company that made domestic surveillance equipment, oil companies, three mining companies, seven tax avoidance schemes and an arms company. As soon as he embarked on his first leadership bid last year, he rapidly divested himself of the shares in all but one of the "problem" companies. But the paper trail of how he amassed his wealth is still there to be seen by any Lib-Dem voter who cares about hypocrisy.

Between 1985 and 1993, Huhne and Pryce added three children of their own to the household (Nicholas, Lydia and Peter) - so the family brood expanded to seven. With the three youngest children inevitably getting the lion's share of Huhne's attention over the two kids he'd inherited from the husband he'd displaced. Not that the kids were crammed in together. The combined Huhne-Pryce millions allowed them to amass a total of nine homes - four to live in and five to use just as letting properties. (After selling off two homes, they still have seven residences.)

Not surprisingly, the ones who suffered most in the ugly break-up of Vicky Pryce’s first marriage were the two daughters of that family - who were age just seven and two when their parents’ marriage ended in tatters and who were separated from their father by the interloper Huhne.

Like many children of broken marriages, the two young girls made the best accommodation they could with the stranger who came between them and their beloved father. But the bonds between Vicky’s two daughters (Georgia and Alexandra) and Huhne have always been strained at best. As they grew older and began to surmise how Huhne had charmed their mother out of her marriage to their father – they became less than enchanted with their Mr. Smoothie stepfather.

Out of loyalty to their mother, and her steely ambition to see her second husband advance to a position of power and influence, they do not express their true feelings about Huhne publicly. But in private, among their closest friends, there are no illusions about how these girls feel about their stepfather. There is apparently a vast difference between the public and the private Huhne.

The hardest toll that Huhne’s home-wrecking behaviour has wreaked has been on Alexandra, Vicky Pryce’s youngest daughter who was at the most vulnerable age when she lost her father because of Huhne’s “charm” offensive.

A rare glimpse into the emotional turmoil that scarred her early life can be sensed in the gothic poems (with titles such as “Pity Me”) that she started writing in her mid-teens. Friends who have read them say that they speak of an emotional desolation.

If you’ve seen the portrayal of the tortured twenty-something daughter (Selena) in Taylor Hackford’s 1995 film of Stephen King’s “Dolores Claiborne” as portrayed by Jennifer Jason Leigh – then you will have an idea of what living with Chris Huhne as a stepfather must have been like.

Though she is by nature circumspect after the emotional damage of her childhood, Alexandra Pryce has occasionally felt the need to unload some of that emotional turmoil in public.

In 2002 she performed at some public poetry readings in London – writing about one of the experiences for The Independent (on 31st March 2002) In her article, she described how she wrote poems to express her feelings of anger, confusion and loneliness. That this young girl should feel lonely in a family of seven speaks volumes. One of the poems she read in public was called "Lydia" expressing her emotions about her young step-sister on whom Huhne naturally doted.

In another rare moment of public soul-bearing she even published one of her more disturbing poems online on the Voices Network Poetry website. In a tell-tale category: "Dark, Depressing, Death Poems"

Alexandra's writing is dramatic, the imagery sharp and the emotional pain this girl has suffered throughout her life is palpable.

Some extracts:

“The bitter taste still lingers”

“Scars aren’t meant to hurt so long”

“Bitter feeling drowning my eyes”

“Memories slide down my grey cheeks”

And most poignantly and tellingly:

“Letting the pleasure of past pain seep in"

“The pleasure of past pain...”... Those are sad words indeed to emerge from the heart of a young woman.

And the title of the poem written by Chris Huhne’s young stepdaughter?

“Cheap Love, Inexpensive Feeling, Worthless, Wasteful Words”

(It might be prudent to check out the above poetry link now. Given that Huhne has a history of deleting unflattering investment information from his own website and burying his wife's divorce records - it is entirely possible that this poem will be suddenly and strangely deleted from the Voices Network Poetry website. We have kept an archive copy of the webpage just in case...)

“Cheap Love, Inexpensive Feeling, Worthless, Wasteful Words”

That’s something that all Lib-Dem voters in the leadership election should ponder on long and hard before casting a vote for Chris Huhne…
